Toadily Cool Frog/Toad House

I had done quite a bit of reading on the idea of frog houses or toad castles and the benefits of inviting them into your garden. I was intrigued, so I did my research, and watched a handful of YouTube and other educational videos. I picked my location, and found all the supplies I needed right here on the property. The best part... I didnt spend a dime! :)

I found an old Terra cotta pot out in the barn
used a flat head screw driver and a hammer from the husbands tool box
carefully placed the pot on a door mat on its side, just supporting with it in between my feet
used a little patience, a steady hand and carefuly chipped away a U shape
(you cant really control the way it will crack ~as you can see its crooked, but i thought it was alright for my first try~ so i just chipped slowly and in very small increments)
Turn it upside down and its complete! It was "Toadily" easy :) lol

BONUS INFO:
Decoration is optional
-I used nail polish that we already had (from the dollar store)
Adding a walkway solar light
-It attracts bugs, making for happy frogs
Placing near a water source
-Pond, garden hose, or providing a small water dish

I think the next project will be a rock garden, which has a similar concept providing a home for frogs. Or a hot flower garden, looks interesting, Oh, bat houses are fascinating...or maybe a natural pool! Laughing at myself ~ A girl can dream right?!

I love the idea of inviting natures creatures into our space, since after all we invaded theirs! As far as I am concerned I am living in their world, not the other way around...and what a beautiful world this is!
Amphibians in general are dwindling in population all over the world as air, water, and soil pollution increase.

Bratovich Resident Ribbit House
I went with "Ribbit" as to not discriminate...COEXIST people
:)

After showing Michael my finished product yesterday, we took a little evening walk in the back, I went to look at the fruit trees and Michael excitedly... or maybe more so disturbed  said "that is a BIG web" after further investigation of our plum tree, here is what we found....

**( CAUTION: NOT FOR THE ARACHNOPHOBIC )**

 Black and Yellow Garden Spider
She was huge!
I refused to disturb her or her web until I knew what she was.
What a beautiful creature!
Her web was amazing with a very interesting ZigZag pattern,
it is called stabilimenta

unfortunately this photo does not do her size justice, and she is flexing herself into her web here,
and then she would shake to re adjust towards the center.
